47′ Bavaria Sloop 2000

Amizade is a Bavaria 47 built in Germany in 2000 and commissioned in Seattle, Washington.  The boat was used for local cruising and racing. Her feathering propeller, 150% genoa, and asymmetrical spinnaker made her a frequent winner!

Amizade was purchased by the current owner in 2006.  Since then equipment has been added, upgraded or replaced to make her suitable for long distance cruising, including; a separate large freezer, water maker, solar panels, a large bank of house batteries, and a unique modified zinc anode protection system for easy maintenance.  All lifelines have been replaced by stainless steel hand rails.

Amizade is now a fully-equipped hybrid cruiser and racer.  Her new sails allow her to perform exceptionally well close-hauled. The 9-ton fin keel with a bulb and a large spade rudder make the boat highly maneuverable, stable and comfortable.

Amizade is located in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico near the Sea of Cortez, one of North America’s favorite cruising areas.

This has been modified by bolting a large plate zinc to hull which is wired directly to the transmission inside the boat. This design has two advantages: (1) the zinc lasts a long time because of its mass, (2) repalcing the zinc by a diver is simple, it is attaced by two (2)3/4″ nuts.(See photographs)PROPELLER: Max Prop feathering propeller brass (17 in/43cm)Spare standar aluminum Volvo propeller is also supplied.Note: This is a competition/racing propeller that is also efficient for cruising. Propeller Corrosion Protection: A standard 70 mm cone anode is used.
This is also easily changed by a diver.Fuel Capacity: 60 US gallons/230 litresFuel tanks: OneFuel Type: Diesel
