The Catalina 36 is a comfortable two-stateroom cruiser. She has a large “T” shaped cockpit, the center of life at anchor. The walk-through stern with fold down swim ladder allows easy access to the sea for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking or to the dinghy for trips ashore. The shoal draft wing keel permits easy access to many desired cruising grounds. The easily managed rig, with all lines led aft, and the heavy duty autopilot ease the effort of sailing from one beautiful cruising ground to another. The boat has been extensively cruised throughout the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific coast of Mexico and constantly maintained  to stay in prime condition. It has been improved and equipped to enable longer, comfortable stays at the beautiful anchorages throughout this region.

The four step stairway from the companion-way leads to the galley to port and the salon to starboard.  It is is easily navigated in all conditions due to the wide treads with custom finished black walnut non-skid and three strong grab handles.


This light and airy living space has teak and holly throughout. It is a spacious, open area with L-shaped settee and folding table to port that converts to a double berth. There is a full size settee to starboard that is convertible to two seats and a small table or to a single berth. At the froward end of this settee there is a large entertainment center or locker, above a set of drawers. Aft of the settee is the navigation station with a chart table with storage below, a swing-out chair and the electrical panel, radar and communication equipment in easy reach.  There are six portlights (3 opening) and an overhead hatch in the salon for excellent light and ventilation. The portlights are furnished with OceanAir pleated shades. Forward of the port settee is the large head with shower seat. It is accessible from the salon or the V-berth.


The galley is a functional U shape with expansive, composite counter tops and deep, double stainless steel sinks near the center line. A larger refrigerator/freezer is aft and a dry food locker is forward. The galley also features a 2 burner propane stove with oven and extensive storage.
